Churro cheesecake recipe

Churro cheesecake flaky pastry sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and filled with delicious cheesecake. Simple and delicious, yet satisfying. It’s a must to try it yourself.

What are crescent rolls?

Crescent rolls are a ready-to-eat canned pastry item that can be found in the refrigerator section of your grocery retailer. I prefer that Pillsbury butter flake to make this recipe, however you can make it with any brand, or make your own.

What is Churros?

Churros are a Spanish/Portuguese food created by cooking an oblong shape of pastry dough, then topping it with sugar and cinnamon. They are often served with different dessert sauces, such as caramel or chocolate.

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE CHURROS BASE:

250 mlWater
15 gGranulated Sugar (1 Tbsp)
50 gButter that is salted but not salted
200 gPlain Flour
2Medium Eggs (beaten)
10 mlDr. Oetker Madagascan Vanilla Extract (2 tsp)

FOR THE CINNAMON SUGAR:

25 gGranulated sugar (2 tbsp)
15 gGround Cinnamon (2 tbsp)

FOR THE CHEESECAKE:

150 gDr. Oetker 26% White Chocolate
450 gFull Fat Cream Cheese
300 mlDouble Cream
5 gDr. Oetker Dr. Oetker Madagascan Vanilla Paste (1 tsp)

PREPARATION

FOR THE CHURROS

1. Inline an 8-inch baking tin square with greaseproof paper. Make sure there’s enough extra space to remove the cheesecake. Line a baking dish with greaseproof paper. Then draw 10-12 8 inch lines spacing them slightly in the greaseproof papers. it is for filling the bottom of your baking tin. Ensure that your lines are the same width as the baking tin.

Second step: Put the hot water together with the sugar, butter and water in large saucepan. Let it simmer at a low temperature until all the ingredients have been melted. Then, increase the heat and bring it to the point of boiling. Lower the heat and add the flour, continue stirring until you have a beautiful, smooth mixture that has the flour not clumping.

Step 3. Place your batter into the bowl of a large one and allow to cool for about 10 minutes. Add eggs as well as Vanilla Extract and, using an electric hand mixer and mix, don’t be worried that the mixture may start to separate in the beginning however, continue to whisk until the mixture is smooth and you’ve got the perfect batter.

It will start to rise and bubble over the water. With tongs, drop some churros into hot oil and fry for around 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Use your tongs to flip the churros until they cook evenly across both sides. Make sure you are careful when cooking the churros since the oil can be very hot and could spill out. If you own a deep fat fryer, use it in order to fry your churros.

Sixth step: When your churros’ are done, place them onto a cooling rack, placing kitchen roll underneath the rack, allowing the excess oil to drain off.

7. When all the churros have been cooked and are cool enough to hold, line the bottom inside your baking tray with them, reduce them with the help of a scissor when they have a long length (keep any scraps of cuts for decorative). Mix the cinnamon and granulated sugar and sprinkle on top of the churros’s base. Remember to reserve some of the mixture to sprinkle over your cheesecake.

FOR THE CHEESECAKE

8. Remove the bottom aside while you prepare the cheesecake. Make your White Chocolate in the microwave in 20 second bursts. stirring in between each burst until it’s completely melted.

9. Put the cream cheese double cream, double cream and Vanilla Extract into a large bowl , and combine them to form stiff peaks. Whisk in the chocolate melt.

step 10: Sprinkle the syrup over your Churros and smooth the top using the help of a spoon or palette knife and then place in the refrigerator to set up for around 4 hours or even overnight.

TO SERVE

Step 11 If you’re ready for serving your cheesecake take it out of the tin and use the greaseproof to assist you take the cheesecake out. Put it on your platter or table and sprinkle on all the cinnamon sugar.

12. If there are remaining churros, mix in some cinnamon sugar , then cut them into mini churros to place them on top of the cheesecake for decoration!
